Looking Glass Wines current releases

We make contemporary wines which are approachable in style and accessible in price, reflecting regional character and are true to variety.
Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand and Riesling from Watervale in the Clare Valley, South Australia was selected in 2010.
The 2009 Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre is from the Barossa Valley.
These varieties and regions were chosen, as the wines have strong, recognisable and distinctive characters.

2011 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough had been fortunate to enjoy great weather during vintage to produce good yields, and high quality Sauvignon Blanc.
This year’s wines are intense, defined, classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The 2011 Looking Glass is a true expression of the grape, and the region. 30% of the grapes were grown in the Wairau Valley, 70% in the more southern Awatere Valley.
The nose has layers of aromas; stone fruits; peach and nectarines, herbs, spearmint, and spice.
The complexity follows through to the palate with additional flavours of pears, greengage with minerality, and a full rich body, and lingering and a subtle, yet intense fruit finish.

2010 Handpicked Watervale Riesling
The 2010 is very much in the classic Watervale style. Perfumed, with floral, citrus, and sherbet components which are also distinguishable on the palate with typical Watervale minerality. An elegant wine, delicate now and which will age with grace.

2009 Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre
Our 2009 GSM has been made from select parcels of fruit from around the Barossa Valley.
The two Grenache blocks were planted in 1927 and 1948.
This is a traditional blend of rustic varieties, and has been made into a fruit driven, accessible wine with careful oak to enhance the delicious berry, spice, herb, white pepper and savoury characters.
The Grenache dominated wine has complex grape and oak flavours and aromas, and suitable for drinking all year round.
